Mason Boys Basketball stunned visiting St. Xavier on Tuesday, 12/2, winning by a score of 34-33. The Comets overcame a 7-point deficit to start the 4th quarter, outscoring the Bombers 14-6 in the final frame and then holding on for the win.

Brycen Johnson, once again led Mason with 14 points.

The Comets begin the season 2-0 and will begin GMC play at Princeton on Friday, 12/5.

Mason Boys Bball secured their 3rd straight win last Friday, 50-42 at Princeton. The Comet open GMC play with a huge victory and have yet to taste a loss this season. Mason led 24-17 at the half and then held off the vikings over the final two quarters.

Brycen Johnson led Mason with 23 points. Tyler Lupinski added 14.

Next up, Mason (3-0, 1-0) visits Colerain on Tuesday, 12/9.

Mason goes to 4-0 in the young season with a road win at Colerain. Final score on Tuesday was 65-51. The Comets never trailed in the game, rushing out to a 25-14 lead at the half. Brycen Johnson continued his strong start with 23 points. Sid Wortham had 11. and Cole Swanson came off the bench to add 12.

Next for Mason boys (4-0, 2-0) is a home game versus Fairfield on Friday, 12/12.

Mason Boys Bball ran their early-season record to 5-0 last Friday with a home victory vs Fairfield. Final score was 42-39. The halftime score was 20-17 Comets. Brycen Johnson continued his scoring ways leading Mason with 24 point. Tyler Lupinski chipped in 10.

Mason (5-0, 3-0) will visit another GMC Oak Hills, TONIGHT, Tuesday, 12/16.

Mason Boys Bball sent their winning streak to 6 with a 34-32 overtime win at Oak Hills on Tuesday. After three quarters of play the Comets found themselves in a 21-14 deficit. The fourth quarter was a different story. Mason outscored Oak Hills 15-8 to send the game to overtime where the Comets outlasted the Highlanders to earn another big GMC win.

Brycen Johnson led Mason with 17 points and Sid Wortham added 16.

Mason got back to their winning ways at the Cintas Classic. A strong 3rd quarter propelled the Comets their 8th win of the season. Tyler Lupinski and Brycen Johnson lead Mason with 12 and 10 points respectively.

Mason Boys Basketball kept their GMC record perfect on Friday with a 65-34 win over Colerain. The Comets go to 6-0 in the league and 9-1 overall. Brycen Johnson led Mason with 23 points. Tyler Lupinski grabbed 10 rebounds and Jacob Lupinski scored 12.

Mason is back in action on Tuesday, at home versus Princeton.

Mason Boys suffered their first GMC loss of the season on Tuesday falling to Princeton 51-36. The loss splits the series with the Vikings, but keeps the Comets in a 1st place tie.

A slow 1st quarter start was too much for Mason to overcome. Princeton outscored the Comets 17-3 in the first 8 minutes. Brycen Johnson led Mason with 12 points.

Mason (9-2, 6-1) will seek to return to their winning ways on Friday at Middletown.

Mason returned to their winning ways last Friday, 1/16, with a 55-37 victory at Middletown. Brycen Johnson and Sid Wortham led the Comets in scoring with 17 and 14 points, respectively.

The Comets fall at Fairfield on Tuesday, 1/20 by a score of 48-31. Halftime score 24-17. Mason offense woes continued in the final two frames. Brycen Johnson led Mason with 16 points.

Next up, Mason (10-3, 7-2) will host #1 Lakota West TONIGHT, Friday, 1/23.

Mason Boys Basketball suffered a 38-26 to Lakota West last Friday, 1/23. The Firebirds jumped out to a 23-16 first half lead and the Comets could not make up the difference in the last two quarters.

Next up for Mason (10-4, 7-3) is an away game at Hamilton on Friday, 1/30.

Msaon Boys Basketball pulled out a 46-44 win at Hamilton last Friday. Junior Sidney Wortham gives the Comets the win on a layup with just 5 seconds remaining in the game. Wortham finished with 9 points while Brycen Johnson led Mason with 19.

Mason Boys took care of business on Tuesday, 2/3 against Sycamore. The Comets earned a tough 38-35 victory at home against the Aves. Mason fell behind early in the first half, 19-8, but roared back in the final two quarters (30-16). Brycen Johnson led the charge with 16 points.

Mason (12-4, 9-3) will host East this Friday, 2/6. The Comets will visit Elder on Saturday, 2/7 for non-conference affair.

Mason rebounded on Saturday at Elder winning 43-33. Tyler Lupinski had 15, Brycen Johnson and Connor Chaney scored 11.

Mason (13-5, 9-4) will host Cincinnati College Prep on Tuesday, 2/10.

The Boys Tourney draw is slated for Sunday, 2/22.

Mason took down Cincinnati College Prep HS on Tuesday night by a score of 40-36. The non-conference affair was the Comets 2nd straight as they look to finish their regualr season strong. Mason was able to hold off CCP in the fourth quarter to secure their 14th win of the season. Brycen Johnson led the Comets with 19 points.

Next for Mason (14-5, 9-4) is a home game this Friday against Middletown.

Mason Boys Basketball defeated Middletown last Friday, 57-51. Three Comets hit double figure scoring; Brycen Johnson 19, Tyler Lupinski 16 and Jacob Lupinski 11.

Mason (15-5, 10-4) host Oak Hills tonight for senior night.

Mason Boys suffered a tough 43-40 loss to Oak Hills on senior night last Tuesday, 2/17. The Comets got off to a slow start in the contest, scoring on 6 first half points. A 34-25 2nd half advantage was not enogh as Mason falls. Brycen Johnson 20 points led Mason.

The Comets (15-6, 10-5) conclude their regular season schedule tonight at top-ranked Lakota West.

Mason Girls Basketball opened their season over Fall Break with a pair of wins.

On Saturday, 11/22, the Comets defeated Kings 64-35 in an away contest. Taylor Stanfield led Mason with 18 points. Anna Habra tossed in 16.

On Tuesday, 11/25, Mason played at Little Miami and came away with an easy 56-36 victory. Stanfield, a sophomore, again led Mason with 18 points while senior Anna Habra contributed 14.

Mason Girls took their first loss of the season at Princeton in a rare Friday night encounter. The Comets were down 4 at the half and couldn't overcome the Vikings in the 2nd half. Taylor Stanfield led Mason with 18 points and Ann Habra added 10.

Mason defeated Colerain on Wednesday, 12/10 by a score of 61-35. This one was never in doubt. Mason led 26-16 at the half and ran away with it in the final two quarters. Four Comets led Mason: Anna Habra 19, Clara Anderson 16, Addy Bianchini and Nicole Davis with 10 each.

Mason Girls Bball whalloped Fairfield at home on Friday, 12/12 by a score of 52-38. The scores was 25-11 at the half. Anna Habra poured in 21 points to lead Mason. She completed the double-double with 10 rebounds.

Mason Girls returned to their winning ways on Wednesday, overwhelming Middletown 50-9. Anna Habra's 19 points led Mason. Addy Bianchini had 9 caroms and 5 assists for the savy Comets.

Mason (7-3, 5-1) will host Colerain TODAY, Friday, 1/9.

Mason Girls Basketball defeated Colerain at home on Friday by a score of 54-32. Anna Habra and Nicole Davis led Mason with 16 and 13 points, respectively. Addy Bianchini totaled 10 caroms.

The Comet ladies basketball team exacted a little "come-from-behind" revenge against Princeton last Wednesday. Trailing late in the contest, Mason was able overcome a deficit to defeat the Vikings 49-48. Mason lost earlier in the season to the Vikings 53-45.

Senior Anna Habra was unstoppable, pouring in a career-high 30 points for the win. Addy Bianchini added 11 in the effort and collected 7 caroms.

The Comets go to 9-3 overall, 7-1 in the GMC. This MLK weekend they head north for the annual Classic in the Country. Mason will face Toledo Notre Dame on Sunday and Olentangy on Monday.

Mason Girls Basketball competed this past weekend at the Classic Country where they suffered a pair of losses.

On Sunday they fell to Toledo Notre Dame by a score of 41-31. Other than Anna Habra's 22 points, the Comets failed to get more production and took a loss from the powerhouse program.

On Monday, it was another loss for Mason falling to Olentangy 62-53. No details of the game were available.

The Lady Comets improved to 8-1 in the GMC on Wednesday, 1/21 by smothering Fairfield 63-39. Senior Anna Habra had a career-best 40 points in the game.

Next up, Mason (10-5, 8-1) will host Lakota West on Saturday, 1/24.

Mason Girls lost a heart-breaker to West last Saturday, 1/24 by a score of 38-37. Down by 7 at the half, the Comets fought their way back and came up just short. Anna Habra shined with 25 points for Mason.

Mason (10-6, 8-2) will visit Hamilton TONIGHT, Wednesday, 1/28.

Mason Girls Basketball downed Hamilton last Wednesay, defeating Big Blue 53-24. The Comets produced a 27-13 halftime advantage and built their lead from there. Anna Habra's 18 points led Mason. Nicole Davis added 10.

Next up for Mason Girls (11-6, 9-2) is a home game versus Sycamore on Saturday, 1/31.

Mason Girls fell to Sycamore on Saturday by a score of 53-44. The Comets fell behind 33-25 after two quarters and were not able overcome the deficit in the 2nd half.

On Wednesday, 2/11 Mason Girls Basketball defeated Oak Hills in a close encounter by a score of 36-35. Anna Habra scored 12 and Addy Bianchini had 11.

On Saturday, 2/14, the Comets fell in their regular season finale by a score of 47-37 at Lakota West. The Comets fell behind after two quarters and couldn't make up the 11 point deficit in the 2nd half. Anna Habra's 19 points led Mason.

The Comets (13-9, 11-5) are the #6 seed in the upcoming postseason. They will play Colerain in the first round slated for Wednesday, 2/18 at Fairfield, tipoff at 6:00 PM. The winner advances to the District Semi-Final on Monday, 2/23 vs. Oak Hills at Fairfield.

The boys continue to show impressive depth this year & easily beat Dublin Jerome this past weekend. In addition to the depth the boys won 8 out of 11 events! Freshman Caleb Tan & Senior Ethan Tu led the team with 2 individual wins each. Caleb won the 200 Freestyle & 100 Breaststroke, while Ethan won the 100 Freestyle & 100 Backstroke. The Mason Swimming and Diving Teams competed at the annual Southwest Classic over the past weekend.

With this being the largest High School meet in the nation, both our swim & dive teams performed very well!

The boys finished runner-up to St. Xavier for the 4th year in a row! We finished a mere 6.5 points behind them!

There were 11 preliminary sites held throughout the SW District. Swimming finals were held at St. Xavier High School. The Comets brought over 16 swimmers to compete at finals each night! It was a total team performance by both squads!

The District Championships begin this week at Miami University with diving on 2/17 and swimming on 2/21. The boys have finished as District Runner-up for three conssecutive seasons.

The District Tournament will automatically qualify three (3) in each swimming event to the State Meet, with twenty (20) at large qualifiers that will be selected on the basis of times recorded in the District Meet. At District diving, a cut to 20 divers will be made after 5 dives and 16 divers after 8 dives. Representation for the State Diving Tournaments shall be calculated based on the entries for this current season.

The District Tournament will automatically qualify three (3) in each swimming event to the State Meet, with twenty (20) at-large qualifiers that will be selected on the basis of times recorded in the District Meet. At District diving, a cut to 20 divers will be made after 5 dives, and 16 divers after 8 dives. Representation for the State Diving Tournaments shall be calculated based on the entries for this current season.

Mason Girls Bowling fell to Kings 1783-1909 in a close opening-season contest.

High Game went to Lacey Doll (12th), 188.  The JV girls won with brand new bowler Kylie Faller (10th) rolling personal best games for a 2 game 304 series.

Mason Girls Bowl dropped a close one to Fairfield on Monday. Final score was 1973-1895.

The Comet Girls had Fairfield after the 2nd baker but lost momentum for a tough loss.  High games went to Lacey Doll (12th), 141 and171 and Kennedi Greyer (11th), 161.

The bitter cold did not keep the Girls Bowlers off the lanes on Monday, 12/15.

On Tuesday, 12/16, the Girls Varsity bowlers fell to Sycamore by just 40 pins.  High 2 game series went to junior, Tierney Flynn with 316 pins.  The JV girls, however,  beat the Aves by a landslide helped by sophomore, Sophie Allen's, new PR 180 game.   Great job, Sophie!  

Mason (1-5, 1-3) will compete at the Back to School Bash at Roll House on Saturday, 1/3/26.

The Varsity Girls bowlers competed in the Back to School Bash Tournament at Rollhouse Lanes on Saturday, 1/3/26.  After individual and team competition, Mason earned 19th seed out of 32 for the single elimination bracket. 

The Lady Comets beat Madeira, entered the second round and fell to Miamisburg.  On a very tough oil pattern, scoring was led by  Lacey Doll, Kylie Faller, Tierney Flynn and Aubrey DeWood.

Mason Girls Bowling hosts Seton, TODAY, Monday, 2/2. They will visit Hamilton on Tuesday, 2/3.

The Lady Comets bowlers defeated Seton on Monday, 2/2.  The varsity girls bowled their best game of the season.  Kyler Faller (384), Aubrey DeWood (363) and Lacey Doll (322) led the comets with 2 game series highs.   Kennedi Grayer and Sophie Allen also rolled top single games at 191 and 181.  Great job, Comets.

Mason Comet Girls bowlers finished out their GMC schedule with a win against Hamilton, 1934 to 1724.  Top bowler was Tierney Flynn with a 324 series over 2 games.  The Lady Comets shined in their 3 team Baker games with an average pin fall of 170.

Next up, Mason Girls host Loveland for senior night on Monday, 2/9.

The Comets close out their regular season on Tuesday, 2/10 versus Mercy-McAuley.

Monday was senior night and our senior bowlers did not disappoint.  The Lady Comets beat Loveland, 1722 to 1258.  Senior and captain, Lacey Doll led the pin fall with a high two game series of 311.  

Mason (5-10, 3-6) was scheduled a match versus Mercy-McAuley on Tuesday, 2/10. Waiting on details.

The Lady Comets struggled during the 3 individual games at the GMC Conference clash on Saturday, 2/14, earning last place out of 10 GMC teams.  High Bowler was sophomore Sophie Allen.   But, during the 6 team bakers after the break, the Lady Comets found their groove. The team managed to jump up to 5th place.  Unfortunately, only the top 4 teams made the cut but the Comets were close!  What a come back!

The Varsity Girls bowlers gave it their all at Sectionals on Thursday but did not make the 7 team cut to move on to Districts.  The Lady Comets were in 3rd place after the first game, great start, but fell to 9th place by the end. 

High bowler was Kylie Faller with a 441 3 game series.  She was only 2 places away from qualifying as an individual bowler at Districts. 

Great job Kylie and great season for all the girls bowlers.

Next up for Boys Bowling is a match at home versus West Clermont, TODAY, 1/12.

The Mason boys bowling team faced off against a very strong West Clermont team on Monday afternoon. Mason managed to bowl another great series and gave the Wolves their first loss of the season. Final score: 2476-2353. A good first round score is about 1000 and the Mason boys easily surpassed that with an 1115.

Led by senior Ryan Monahan and junior Gus Hanson the Comets took a commanding lead. Both teams scored well in the second set and Mason led the rest of the way Ryan's 2 game set of 221, and 277 gave him his season high 2 game series. 

The Mason boys (8-0, 5-0) remain undefeated in match play and hope to continue as they face Colrain on Thursday, who are also undefeated.

The Mason Boys Bowling team continued their winning ways on Thursday. The Comets defeated a good Colrain team keeping their undefeated streak in tack.  Final score was 2821-2313!

High scorer was senior Drew freeman with a solid 225, 223 series. He was closely followed by Junior Gus Hansen who had a 243 194 2 game series. 

Mason (9-0, 6-0) will next battle in the Beavercreek  Baker Bash tournament on MLK day, Monday, 1/19.  

The Mason boys bowling team participated in the MLK Baker Bash at Beaver-Vu this past weekend.  They had a terrific first round finishing 4th out of 23 teams. This set them up well for the second round. Unfortunately the boys failed to move on into the third round finishing in a tie for 6th place.

Next up for Mason (9-0, 6-0) is a dual meet at home vs. Lakota East.

The Boys Bowling team battled Lakota East yesterday for the top spot in the GMC's. It was one of the best matches of the season. East threw their best scores of the season but the Mason boys took every punch and ended up dominating the Thunderhawks with their own fantastic score.

East threw a 2813 which is a 201 average, but the Comets threw a 2912 (208 average). It was close all day but led by senior Ryan Monahan's 279, 194 the Comets came out winners.

This win puts the Boys at 8-0 in the GMC's with only one more GMC match, 12-0 overall!

Next for Mason Boys is the SW Tomahwk Preview at Beaver-Vu on Sunday, 1/25 (weather permitting). The Comets will host Maderia on Monday, 1/26.

The undefeated Mason Boys Bowling (10-0, 7-0) team plays at Middletown TONIGHT, Wednesday, 1/28.

The Mason Boys bowled in the Tomahawk at Beavercreek this past Sunday. They placed 8th overall, only 100 pins from 3rd.

However,the big news of the day was the performance of Gus Hansen. He placed second on the all tournament team. He bowled a spectacular three game series. His second game 246 was 2 strikes away from perfection. 

The Comets next face Elder, the number one team in the Southwest District, at home, TODAY, Monday at 3:30. Mason is currently #4 in the SW District polls. Both teams are undefeated and this should be a fantastic match.

The Comets have their final GMC match of the season at Hamilton on Wednesday, 2/4, when they will seek wrapping up the 2025-26 GMC Title.

Mason Bowling finished their regular season GMC schedule on Thursday night as undefeated at 9-0. The Comets took down Big Blue 2600-2380. Waiting on more details.

Mason Boys Bowling Sweeps the GMC

Comets Capture 7th Conference Championship

The Mason Boys Bowling Team rolled its way to another Greater Miami Conference Championship on Thursday night, defeating Hamilton to complete a perfect 9–0 league season and secure the program’s seventh GMC title.

This championship marks the third time Mason has claimed the GMC crown outright, while the Comets have shared the title on four other occasions. Since bowling became a GMC-sponsored sport in the 2004–05 season, Mason ranks second only to Oak Hills (12) in total conference championships, outright or shared.

The Comets’ lone setback this season came against Elder, the top-ranked team in Southwest Ohio. Mason enters the postseason with an impressive 12–1 overall record and is currently ranked #4 in the Southwest Ohio Coaches Poll.

This season’s success has been driven by the leadership and performance of seniors Drew Freeman, Ryan Monahan, and Noah Rumanski, along with key contributions from juniors Drew Elegeer and Gus Hansen. The Comets are guided by head coach Joe Riestenberg, whose team continues to demonstrate consistency, focus, and championship-caliber play.

Mason will close out the regular season with upcoming matches against Loveland on February 9 (Senior Night), at Moeller on February 12, and the GMC Conference Clash on February 14.

Postseason play begins on February 17, when the Comets compete at the Sectional Tournament in pursuit of their 14th advancement to the District Championships, having qualified 19 times in the past 21 seasons.

The Comets won the GMC Clash end of season tourney this past Saturday. This was Mason's first win of this event. Drew Freeman was 4th overall in the clash with a 667 three game series.
